Fixer-Upper Sailboats

The Neglected boat you save may become your own

If you're looking for an affordable good old boat that needs major fixing up, you've come to the right place. We're helping marinas and neighborhoods get rid of the abandoned sailboats in boatyards and back yards (who knows? maybe even in brickyards -- that's where the Allied boats were once created). We're looking for abandoned, deteriorated sailboats in need of a new dreamer to turn them into a dream boat once more. So if you know of one, get in touch! And if you're interested in one of those listed here, follow your heart and follow up. Call the number listed.

Have something to add? Contact us. There's no charge to list a fixer-upper. But you must be selling it for $5,000 or less. Please let us know whenyour boat goes to a good home and we'll remove the listing.

There's no fee for the buyer either. We just want to help you find the boat of your dreams.

Winter 2012

Luger Tradewinds

Everything was in working order, it has been sitting in a boat yard by the lake for about 2 years, so will need a lot of cleaning and TLC.  I have incurred about $350 due to the boat yard for sitting there, and I am only asking to cover those fees.  The Genoa and jib are clean in a garage. 10 HP Johnson outboard extended shaft. Holsclaw trailer.

1972 Balboa

I have a 26 foot 1972 Balboa for sale.  Sank under pressure of heavy snow 2 winters ago, so electrical connections need work, but otherwise in good shape. Inboard diesel engine needs a part replaced.  Interior and fiberglass in decent shape. Some of teak has been recently refinished. Needs a little TLC to look really great.

Has roller furler just a few years old.  Main sail is a little saggy but usable, jib in pretty good shape, also has genoa.  On original trailer that was recently given new coat of paint.

I have a 1965, 27ft Bristol Sailboat for sale. I was starting on restoring her when I bought a bigger, older, good old boat. I'd love to see her get a good home, and restored to Bristol fashion. Everything solid. Took engine out, I could go on, but you have to see the boat yourself. I live and work in Palm Beach, Fl. but go to Marathon almost every week end.  My name is Mike.

Hull #147. This is the fin keel model and it's been in dry storage since 1999 in a state of suspended restoration.  She's sitting on a 1999 Triad lift-off trailer w/bow-stop & ladder.  The trailer is in "as new" condition w/fewer than 350 mi. and has never been exposed to the elements.  There are two sets of sails, the original and a newer set made by Thurston, and a circa 80's Johnson 7.5 Sail Master outboard.

Other commitments have prevented me from finishing the job and there is now a need for the additional space.  I am open to offers or trades--but not more projects.  Trades can be partial; vehicles are always welcome.

ODay 22

ODay 22

1973 22' ODay weekender with shoal keel and self furling jib. I did a lot of work on her last spring: new Kiwi non skid, Epiphane on the woodwork, altered the v berth for more sleeping room, blasted off the bottom paint and touched up a couple of blisters and then followed with four coats of barrier paint and three coats of bottom paint. The bottom paint needs to be done again this year, no build up! She also got about half her running rigging replaced last year and has a new anchor and chain. All in all she's in pretty good shape, the chainplates need some attention if not this season then next. The standing rigging is of an unknown age, seems good, no kinks or fraying. The best reason to own a boat is because you like working on them. :) You can always find something to do!

9.9hp kicker with electric start, works every time. She has a trailer that needs new tires but has new wiring. The guides need to be fixed if you plan to trailer her more than once a season.

Cascade Chinook 34

Beautiful Fredrich Gieger design, to a good home, I hope. Needs complete restoration. Look under Cascade Chinook, Chinook 34, or Yacht Constructors, Inc. for more information. I'm not looking for much if anything but would like to see the boat preserved.
