The web ads rotate randomly on 12 of our most-viewed pages, including the Good Old Boat Home Page and all the Classified Ad pages (unfailingly our most popular pages). The rotation keeps the ads looking fresh and the page new every time a reader sees it. And, of course, clicking on your ad will take the viewer directly to your site.

In early 2008, we launched our all-new website. The great content that was there before is still there and it’s much easier to find. While we were at it, we added, and are continuing to add, new features.
We recognize that video is a very hot new element and have begun including short clips on our site. We’re adding more products to our store. We are also making it easier for our readers to post boats and gear for sale on our site and to check how many issues they have remaining on their subscriptions.
This increased online utility means more sailors will be visiting our — already very busy — site. More traffic at <http://www.goodoldboat.com> will be music to your ears if you’d like to advertise your products to our kind of sailors.
We’re offering advertising packages that include ads on our new site as well as in our print magazine. While you Web Advertising can advertise in one or the other, if you choose to advertise in the magazine and on the web simultaneously, our new package offers you a 10% discount on both.
As they have always been, our ad rates are still a bargain. Compare our prices against those in any other sailing magazine. That’s one of the reasons why our advertisers are so loyal. We don’t have to tell you, we hope, that the ability to reach our group of passionate and dedicated do-it-yourself sailors is the second reason for advertiser loyalty to Good Old Boat magazine.
Getting started
If you already have a web ad, just send it to us. The file needs to be optimized (saved for web and devices) in Photoshop as GIF if possible, JPEG if necessary for photos. Small ads should be less than 5K and large ones less than 10K for faster loading. If you need to have one designed, our ad designer can make one for you. We charge $40 per hour for our designer’s time.
Web ads run concurrently with the magazine issue dates. A May/June web ad runs from May 1 through June 30, for example.
