Who is Behind All This?

"Who are you?" you ask. We are a sailing couple -- Karen Larson and Jerry Powlas. We sail a 1976 C&C 30 named Mystic. Our cruising ground is Lake Superior, where we spend as much time as possible on weekends and vacations. We dream of escaping from the North American continent via the St. Lawrence Seaway. But we'll do this slowly, exploring each lake and byway as we go. It may take years. We particularly look forward to sailing in the Canadian Maritimes! In the meantime, we feel fortunate to be so close to one of the world's loveliest cruising areas -- if only it didn't get so cold and stay that way for so long! It occurs to us that, as we profile other sailors and their boats in other parts of this continent and beyond, we will discover other cruising areas which are equally interesting and exciting. We look forward to the discovery, to bringing sailors together through the wonders of electronics and print, and to meeting you! In February 2003 we bought a second boat. You'd think one would be enough for anyone. But this boat is a trailerable C&C Mega 30. It needs work, but once we've done that we're looking forward to exploring even more of our country and meeting sailors everywhere!
