About Peter Kiidumae
As a sailor who lived aboard his sailboat for nine years with his supportive wife, Lorraine, Peter finds much of his inspiration in his marine surroundings, whether in the heart of the city or in the wilderness of his Pacific Northwest cruising grounds. Working in pencil, watercolor and acrylics, his subjects reflect his love of boating, wildlife and the natural world.
Although largely self-taught, Peter learned the basics in high school where he earned an art scholarship to study architecture at university. Collectors of Peter's works can be found in many countries around the globe. His images have been featured as magazine covers, including twice on issues of Good Old Boat, as well as illustrations for articles he has had published.
"In my work, I try to bring an element of tranquility into our stress-filled, hectic lives by capturing moments or scenes that evoke a sense of calm. That is probably why the incredible variety of colors, patters and textures of water almost always plays a part in my images."
Whether you are a sailor or just a dreamer, one of Peter's works on the wall of your office, cubicle or home can always take you away from it all when you have those "I'd rather be cruising" thoughts.
About Giclee Printing
Giclee printing (pronounced "jee-clay") is one of the highest quality methods of fine art reproduction available, with an estimated print life of at least 75 years.
