Captiva 270

Captiva 270

Description

It was produced by Captiva Yachts (Clearwater/Oldsmar, Florida, USA) in the mid-to-late 1980s, likely around 1986–1988, during the company's brief run before it folded. Like the 240, it's a trailerable racer-cruiser with performance-oriented roots but scaled up for more comfortable cruising and overnighting. It was designed by O.H. Rodgers (original hull lines, drawing from his racing-oriented work like the Rodgers 24) and modified/adapted by Walter Scott (who handled the cruiser-oriented changes, including the shoal-draft keel + centerboard configuration, rig adjustments for better balance, and interior accommodations to suit family/racer-cruiser use).
