Description
The Farr 37 (also known as the Farr 37 (#128) or Dickerson 37 (Farr)) is a high-performance masthead sloop racer-cruiser designed by Bruce Farr (design #128) in the early 1980s. It relaunched Farr Yacht Design's presence in IOR (International Offshore Rule) racing after a brief hiatus, blending speed, seaworthiness, and a usable interior for club racing, offshore events, or coastal cruising. Built primarily by Dickerson Boatbuilders (Trappe, Maryland, USA) starting around 1983, it's a semi-custom/limited-production model with solid fiberglass construction, a fin keel, and spade rudder for responsive handling. This Farr 37 was optimized for competitive racing (e.g., top-end Class B IOR ratings around 28.4) while offering a civilized layout—better accommodations than pure racers like the Farr 1104 or 1020 (roomier saloon, aft cabin, galley, head; sleeps 4–6 modestly).
