Hallberg Rassey 34
Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 34 is a highly regarded Swedish bluewater pocket cruiser designed by Germán Frers and built by Hallberg-Rassy Varv in Sweden from 1990 to 2005, with 484 hulls produced—making it one of the yard's best-selling models and a benchmark for quality, seaworthiness, and timeless appeal. This fractional sloop features a fin keel with spade rudder for responsive handling and excellent pointing ability, combined with HR's signature solid fiberglass construction (lead ballast on deep bilge), teak decks, protected cockpit, and a well-balanced hull that delivers a comfortable, dry ride in offshore conditions while surprising with lively performance (especially in light to moderate winds). It's ideal for single-handed, couple, or family coastal/extended cruising or even ocean passages (CE Category A rated), with a spacious, high-quality interior (mahogany or teak joinery, berths for 4–6, practical galley/head, good headroom and storage)—often described as a "revolutionary" step forward for HR with more modern lines and better sailing dynamics than earlier models.
