Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 35 (often referred to in context as the Rasmus 35, with no official "Mk II" designation in Hallberg-Rassy records—unlike later models such as the 40 Mk II or 44 Mk II) is a pioneering Swedish bluewater cruiser designed by Olle Enderlein and built by Hallberg-Rassy Varv from 1967 to 1978, with an impressive 760 hulls produced—the highest volume of any HR model and the foundational boat that established the yard's reputation for robust, comfortable long-distance sailing. This center-cockpit masthead sloop was revolutionary for its era: the first production yacht with a protective windscreen (a hallmark of HR designs ever since), powerful inboard diesel for reliable motoring, and a blend of seaworthiness, elegance, and practicality that made it ahead of its time—suitable for ocean crossings, family cruising, or liveaboard use (berths for 4–6, with a spacious saloon, galley, heads, and good storage/headroom).
