Description
The HALLBERG RASSEY 38 MK II is a classic Swedish bluewater cruiser designed by Olle Enderlein (with input from Christoph Rassy) and built by Hallberg-Rassy Varv in Sweden from 1977 to 1986, with 202 hulls produced. It marked a significant milestone as the first HR model to feature the iconic blue hull stripe (a design element that became a yard signature) and set the tone for the brand's reputation in robust, elegant, long-distance cruising yachts. This masthead sloop emphasizes seaworthiness, comfort, and reliability with solid fiberglass construction, a fin keel with rudder on skeg for balanced handling and protection, encapsulated iron ballast in a deep bilge for excellent stability, and a center-cockpit layout with windscreen for superior protection in rough conditions—ideal for extended coastal/offshore passages, family cruising, or liveaboard use (berths for 4–6, spacious saloon, practical galley/heads, and good headroom/storage).
