Description
The Hallberg-Rassy Mistral 33 (also known simply as the Mistral 33 or HR 33 Mistral) is a classic Swedish pocket cruiser designed by Olle Enderlein and built by Hallberg-Rassy Varv (initially under the Hallberg name until around 1972, then Hallberg-Rassy after the merger) in Sweden from 1966 to 1976, with a total of 216 hulls produced. This early model from the Harry Hallberg/Christoph Rassy era ignores racing rules in favor of pure cruising comfort, featuring a fiberglass (GRP) hull with fiberglass deck overlaid in teak, mahogany doghouse/cabin accents, a long keel for excellent tracking and stability, and a skeg-hung rudder—delivering an easy, sea-kindly motion in waves, dry ride, and forgiving handling suitable for coastal or offshore passages. It's renowned for its beautiful traditional lines, robust construction, and timeless appeal as a family or couple's cruiser (berths for 4–5, practical layout with V-berth forward, settees, galley/head, and decent headroom/storage), often compared favorably to other 1970s Swedish classics for build quality and seaworthiness.
