Hans Christian 43
Description
The Hans Christian 43 (often called the HC 43 or 43 Traditional/43T) is a classic heavy displacement bluewater cruiser from Hans Christian Yachts, built primarily in Taiwan by Ta Shing Ltd. under designer Harwood Ives. It's one of the larger models in the traditional series, known for its robust fiberglass construction, extensive teak brightwork and interior, double-ended lines, and exceptional seaworthiness—many have circumnavigated or served as long-term liveaboards. Available configurations include staysail ketch (most common), cutter, or sloop, with a focus on comfort, stability, and heavy-weather capability rather than high-speed performance. Production resulted in approximately 130 boats.
