Heavenly Twins 27
Description
The Heavenly Twins 27 (also known as the Heavenly Twins HT27 in later variants) is a classic British cruising catamaran designed by Pat Patterson and built by Heavenly Cruising Yachts Ltd. (UK), with production spanning from 1971 through the late 1990s (a remarkable 27-year run for a multihull, with hundreds produced across evolutions). It's a compact, budget-friendly pocket cruiser emphasizing stability, shallow draft, spacious accommodations for its size (often sleeping 6 in two hull cabins plus saloon), and reliable coastal/offshore capability—many have circumnavigated or completed long passages despite modest performance. The design features twin hulls with canoe sterns, dual coach roofs separated by a central cockpit (a signature layout for excellent visibility and protection), masthead sloop rig (aft-stepped), low-aspect keels (no daggerboards), and twin engines/propellers (often hydraulic drive from a single diesel for redundancy and maneuverability). It's not a high-speed racer but excels in comfort, shallow-water access, and heavy-weather steadiness (heaves-to well, minimal heeling), making it popular among liveaboards and families.
