Heritage 36 (West Indies Morgan 36)
Description
The Heritage 36 (West Indies Morgan 36), more precisely known as the West Indies 36 (Morgan), is a fiberglass cruising sailboat designed by Charles Morgan and produced by Heritage Yacht Corp. (Clearwater, Florida, USA) from 1976 to 1979. This model was part of Morgan's independent efforts after leaving Morgan Yachts, with a limited production run of approximately 40 hulls before the company ceased operations. It features a cutter rig for flexible sail plans and easier shorthanded handling, a keel/centerboard (keel/CB) underbody for versatile draft (good for shoal waters while allowing deeper performance when down), robust fiberglass construction, a wide beam for excellent stability and spacious accommodations (sleeps 6+ with V-berth, settees, quarter berths, galley, head, and good storage for extended coastal or bluewater cruising), and a focus on comfort, seaworthiness, and ease of use rather than outright racing performance.
