C.W. Hood 32 DS
Description
The Hood 32 DS (commonly known as the C.W. Hood 32 or CW Hood 32 Daysailer) is a modern classic fiberglass daysailer designed by Chris Hood (with contributions from Ben Stoddard) of CW Hood Yacht Design, and built by CW Hood Yachts (Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA) starting around 2009–2010. Chris Hood is the nephew of legendary yacht designer/sailmaker Ted Hood (founder of Hood Sailmakers and Little Harbor Yachts), and this model draws on that heritage for elegant, timeless lines while incorporating contemporary performance elements. It won accolades including Sailing World "Boat of the Year" (2011) and Sail Magazine "Best Boat of the Year" (2011). Production has been limited and semi-custom (exact quantity built undocumented but low dozens estimated, given its niche high-end daysailer market and ongoing availability new/used), emphasizing quality over volume with lightweight carbon/composite construction options in some hulls.
