Kaiser 25
Description
The Kaiser 25 is an American trailerable pocket cruiser designed by John R. Kaiser Sr. (who also founded Kaiser Yachts, later associated with Stowman Shipbuilding Corp. in Dorchester, New Jersey, for some builds). It was first built in fiberglass in 1962 as a compact, seaworthy cruiser emphasizing a comfortable motion, sea-kindly handling, and excellent light-air performance from a generous sail plan. The design features a long keel (for good tracking and stability), masthead sloop rig, solid fiberglass construction for durability and low maintenance, and interior accommodations suitable for weekend or short coastal cruising (small cabin with berths, basic galley/head). It's often praised in classic boat circles as a "good old boat" with substantial displacement relative to its size, providing reassurance in varied conditions while remaining easy to trail and launch. Production was limited (dozens built in the 1960s–1970s era before the line phased out), making surviving examples rare but still occasionally listed or sailed as classics (e.g., in the US East Coast or Great Lakes regions).
