Kaiser 26

Kaiser 26

Description

The Kaiser 26 is an American fiberglass pocket cruiser designed by John R. Kaiser Sr. (also known as Rex Kaiser, founder of Kaiser Yachts Associates in Wilmington, Delaware). Built by Kaiser Yachts starting in 1968 (with some Mk II variants in the early 1970s), it was produced in very limited numbers—only about 26 hulls total—emphasizing a robust, full-keel (long keel) design for excellent directional stability, sea-kindliness, and reassuring motion in rough conditions. The hull is solid fiberglass with heavy layup (typical of Kaiser's "overbuilt" philosophy, seen in his larger Gale Force series), a masthead sloop rig, and a compact but practical interior suitable for weekend/coastal cruising or short offshore passages (good headroom, basic galley/berths, and storage for its size).
