The Knutson 35 (also known as the K-35) is an American wooden auxiliary sloop designed by Sparkman & Stephens (S&S design number 1727, a classic from the post-WWII era) and built by Thomas Knutson Shipbuilding Corp. in Huntington, New York, USA, starting in 1955. Constructed primarily in wood (mahogany planking over oak frames) for high-quality craftsmanship, it features a fin keel with spade rudder for balanced handling, a fractional sloop rig for efficient performance, and a reputation as one of S&S's finest mid-sized designs—emphasizing seaworthiness, comfortable motion, and capable cruising/racing potential (e.g., suitable for coastal or occasional offshore use). The interior offers good accommodations for its era (berths for 4–6, galley, head), with a focus on solid build quality rather than speed extremes.
