Lagoon 380
Description
The Lagoon 380 is one of the most successful and popular cruising catamarans ever built, a compact yet spacious entry-level multihull designed by Van Peteghem/Lauriot-Prévost (VPLP) for Lagoon Catamarans (built in France, initially under Jeanneau influence). Introduced in 2000 (with the updated S2 version from 2003 onward), it features fiberglass construction, twin keels (or mini-keels), a fractional sloop rig with a full-battened mainsail, self-tacking jib options in later models, wide beam for excellent stability, shallow draft ideal for coastal and charter use, and a bright, airy interior with 3- or 4-cabin layouts (often 8-10 berths) plus dual engines for easy maneuvering. Over 760 hulls were produced (making it a bestseller in its class), prized for balanced performance, comfort, charter reliability, and ease of handling in moderate conditions while offering good upwind ability for a cruising cat.
