LM 24
Description
The LM 24 is a compact, Danish motorsailer / pilothouse cruiser-racer designed by Palle Mortensen and built by LM Glasfiber (Lunderskov Møbelfabrik, Denmark) from 1973 to 1984, with around 659–700 hulls produced (LM's most commercially successful model). It features a distinctive pilothouse (enclosed wheelhouse) for all-weather protection, solid fiberglass construction with a long encapsulated keel for excellent stability and grounding forgiveness, a masthead sloop rig with generous sail area for light winds, and a practical interior (cozy V-berth forward + saloon settees sleeping 4, basic galley/heads, headroom ~5'8" / 1.72 m in cabin). Known for its seaworthy, "little ship" feel in a 24-footer—strong build, comfortable motion, good motoring (often with inboard diesel), and versatility for coastal/lake cruising or short offshore hops—it's a cult favorite among budget-conscious owners for reliability and value.
