Lord Nelson 35

Lord Nelson 35

Description

The Lord Nelson 35 is a classic, heavy-displacement bluewater cutter designed by Loren Hart (with input from Tommy Chen) and built by Lord Nelson Yachts / Hai O Yachts (Taiwan) from 1984 onward, with only about 35 hulls produced—making it a rare and highly regarded semi-custom cruiser. It was developed as a performance-oriented evolution inspired by the Hans Christian 33 (flatter aft sections to reduce hobby horsing), featuring solid fiberglass construction, a long encapsulated keel for excellent stability and grounding forgiveness, a cutter rig for versatile sail handling (easy to shorten in heavy weather), skeg protection on the rudder, and a spacious, traditional teak interior (typically 4–6 berths with V-forward, saloon settees, galley, enclosed head, and good headroom ~6'–6'3").
