Maria 31 (Pacific Seacraft Mariah 31)
Description
The Mariah 31 (also known as the Pacific Seacraft Mariah 31) is a heavy-displacement, full-keel cutter designed by Henry Mohrschladt and built by Pacific Seacraft in Dana Point, California, from 1977 to 1983, with exactly 89 hulls produced before the molds were updated and the model reintroduced as the Pacific Seacraft 31 (a different but related design). It features exceptionally thick solid fiberglass construction (often 1–3 inches in key areas for durability), a long encapsulated keel for outstanding stability and grounding forgiveness, a cutter rig for versatile short-handed sail handling, and a comfortable, traditional interior suited for extended coastal or offshore cruising—prized for its seaworthiness, dry ride, and "bullet-proof" build quality that reflects an era of overbuilt fiberglass boats.
