Marner 35 Ketch

Marner 35 Ketch

Description

The Mariner 35 Ketch (also known as the Mariner 35 (Garden)) is a heavy-displacement, full-keel bluewater ketch designed by William Garden (with construction oversight by Clair Oberly) and built in wood (Philippine mahogany planking over frames) by Far East Yachts (Yokosuka, Japan) between 1964 and 1970, with a very limited number of hulls produced (exact quantity low, likely in the teens to low dozens due to the era's custom-oriented production). It features a traditional clipper bow, cutter/ketch rig for versatile short-handed sail handling in heavy weather, excellent stability from its encapsulated lead keel, and a comfortable, teak-finished interior suited for extended offshore cruising or liveaboard use—prized for its seaworthiness, dry ride, and proven capability in rough conditions (many examples logged significant ocean miles).
