Description
The Mason 34 is a premium, bluewater-capable cruiser designed by Al Mason (naval architect for Pacific Asian Enterprises/PAE) and built by Ta Shing Yacht Building (Taiwan) in the mid-1980s as an evolution and slight expansion of earlier Mason designs (e.g., the Mason 33), with a limited production run (exact hull count low, likely in the dozens due to the semi-custom nature). It features solid fiberglass construction (hand-laid to Lloyd's +100A1 specifications with full-length longitudinal stringers and bonded bulkheads), a refined underbody for maximized cruising performance, a cutter rig for versatile short-handed sail handling, and a comfortable, traditional interior suited for extended coastal or offshore passages—prized for its seaworthiness, dry ride, and high build quality typical of Ta Shing (the same yard that built Nordhavn powerboats and other Mason models).
