Medalist 33 Mk II & III

Medalist 33 Mk II & III

Description

The Medalist 33 Mk II was introduced by LeComte Yachts (Holland) in the late 1960s, refining the original Mk I with a more modern underbody while retaining the boat’s offshore‑capable character. Designed again with influence from Wirth Monroe, the Mk II featured a semi‑long keel with a cut‑away forefoot, improving maneuverability and light‑air performance compared to the full‑keel Mk I. Construction remained top‑tier, using heavy hand‑laid fiberglass, teak joinery, and robust rigging. Production was limited—generally 20–25 boats—before the introduction of the Mk III. Features include increased interior volume, improved tankage, updated deck layout, and more contemporary sail‑handling hardware, while preserving the classic, bluewater‑oriented feel.
