Mercator 30

Mercator 30

Description

The Mercator 30 is a 30‑foot offshore cruising sailboat designed by Neil Parmentier and built by Mercator Marine in the United States during the early–mid 1960s. Produced in very limited numbers (approximately 20–30 hulls), the boat was part of Mercator’s early fiberglass lineup and reflects Parmentier’s focus on sturdy, traditional offshore cruisers. The design features a full keel, keel‑hung rudder, moderate overhangs, and a masthead sloop rig, giving it predictable handling and excellent tracking in a seaway. Construction was heavy hand‑laid fiberglass with a warm, wood‑trimmed interior, making the boat a strong, durable cruiser for coastal and bluewater passages. Owners value the Mercator 30 for its classic proportions, rugged build, and rare, semi‑custom pedigree.
