Montego 20

Montego 20

Description

The Montego 20 (also known as the Montego 20 or sometimes grouped with the Montego 19 in records) is a compact, trailerable pocket cruiser designed by Dutch American naval architect Johannes "Jopie" Helsen and built in fiberglass by Universal Marine Corp. (USA) from 1976 to 1985. It shares the same hull as the Montego 19 but with a fixed shoal-draft keel (vs. swing keel on the 19), featuring a fractional sloop rig for responsive handling, a spacious cockpit for its size, and a small cuddy cabin for basic overnights or storage—known for its light weight, affordability, forgiving nature, and good light-air performance as an entry-level family daysailer or short coastal cruiser.
