Moody 346
Description
The Moody 346 is a popular mid-sized family cruiser designed by Bill Dixon and built by A.H. Moody & Sons (in collaboration with Marine Projects, Plymouth, UK) from 1986 to 1990, with around 200 hulls produced in fiberglass. It features a fin keel with rudder on skeg (or optional bilge keels for shallower draft), a masthead sloop rig for straightforward sail management and good all-around performance, and a spacious center-cockpit layout (sleeps 6 in V-berth + saloon settees + aft cabin, galley, enclosed head with shower) with excellent headroom and storage—widely regarded as one of the best 34-footers of its era for comfort, seaworthiness, solid Moody build quality (thick hull laminates, teak joinery), and balanced handling that makes it forgiving and capable for coastal or light offshore cruising.
