Moody 419
Description
The Moody 419 is a British center-cockpit bluewater cruiser designed by Bill Dixon (of Angus Primrose Ltd./Dixon Yacht Design) and built by Marine Projects Ltd. (Plymouth, UK) in association with Moody Yachts (A.H. Moody & Sons) from 1984 to 1986, with 60 hulls produced in fiberglass. It is a direct development of the Moody 41 (also by Dixon), with enhanced accommodation and refinements for improved comfort and seaworthiness, featuring a fin keel with rudder on skeg for balanced handling and protection, a masthead sloop rig for straightforward sail management and good performance, and a spacious interior (typically 3 cabins/2 heads, large saloon/galley, centerline aft cabin) with excellent headroom and storage—widely regarded as a capable, solidly built cruiser for coastal or offshore use.
