Moody 422
Description
The Moody 422 is a spacious, center-cockpit bluewater cruiser designed by Bill Dixon and built by Moody Yachts (A.H. Moody & Sons, in collaboration with Marine Projects Ltd., Plymouth, UK) from 1986 to 1988, with 72 hulls produced in fiberglass. It is an evolution of the Moody 41/419 series, offering enhanced accommodation and refinements for improved comfort and seaworthiness, with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder for balanced handling and protection, a masthead sloop rig for straightforward sail management and good performance, and a generous interior (typically 3 cabins/2 heads, large saloon/galley, centerline aft cabin) with excellent headroom and storage—widely regarded as a capable, solidly built cruiser for coastal or offshore use.
