Moody 58 Custom
Description
The Moody 58 Custom is a luxurious, heavy displacement bluewater cruiser designed by Bill Dixon and built by Moody Yachts (A.H. Moody & Sons, Southampton, UK) in the late 1980s (with hulls molded and fitted out by Moody Service & Construction Ltd.), with only 4 hulls produced as a semi-custom model emphasizing practical long-distance cruising. It combines speed, practicality, and exceptional comfort, featuring a robust fiberglass hull, a cutter rig for versatile short-handed sail handling in heavy weather, and a spacious, well-appointed interior for extended offshore passages or liveaboard use—prized for its seaworthiness, dry ride, and high-end Moody build quality typical of the era.
