Moody Eclipse 33
Description
The Moody Eclipse 33 is a center-cockpit pilothouse cruiser designed by Bill Dixon and built by A.H. Moody & Sons Ltd. (in collaboration with Marine Projects Ltd., Plymouth, UK) from 1989 to 1994, with approximately 100 hulls produced in fiberglass. It combines the hull of the Moody 336 with an extended pilothouse for all-weather protection and visibility, featuring a fin keel with spade rudder for responsive handling, a masthead sloop rig optimized for good performance and easy short-handed sailing, and a spacious, practical interior (sleeps 6 in V-berth + saloon settees + aft cabin, galley, enclosed head with shower) with excellent headroom and storage—widely praised for its comfort, seaworthiness, solid Moody build quality (thick laminates, teak joinery), and ability to handle coastal or light offshore conditions in comfort.
