Morris 28 (Linda) Tall Rig

Morris 28 (Linda) Tall Rig

Description

The Morris 28 Tall Rig refers to a variant of the Morris Linda 28, a classic small cruising sailboat built by Morris Yachts (Maine, USA) from 1985 to 1991. Only about 16 hulls were produced, designed by renowned naval architect Chuck Paine (C.W. Paine Yacht Design). It's known for exceptional build quality, beautiful lines, offshore capability in a compact package, and excellent handling—often praised as one of the finest small traditional cruisers. The "Tall Rig" designation appears in some sail databases for a version with a taller, more performance-oriented sail plan optimized for better light-air performance (higher aspect ratio, more sail area up high). Standard rigs on the Linda 28 are typically masthead sloops, but the tall rig variant increases the foretriangle height (I measurement) for enhanced power.
