Description
The Morris 32 (also known as the Morris Ocean Series 32 or simply Morris 32) is a premium cruising sailboat designed by Chuck Paine (C.W. Paine Yacht Design) and built by Morris Yachts in Southwest Harbor/Bass Harbor, Maine, primarily in the late 1980s to early 1990s. It represents one of the collaborative high-points between Paine and Tom Morris, aimed at the "last-time buyer"—a beautifully crafted, seaworthy cruiser with modern underbody refinements (fin keel with skeg-hung rudder) while retaining traditional elegance and exceptional build quality. Unlike the long-keel pocket cruisers like the Linda 28 or Leigh 30, the Morris 32 shifts to a more performance-oriented yet still comfortable hull form: deeper V forefoot, balanced diagonals, and a moderate fin keel for better upwind ability and speed potential without sacrificing too much motion comfort. Production was limited (typical of Morris customs/semi-customs), making well-maintained examples rare and highly sought-after.
