Description
The Morris 36 (most commonly known as the Morris Justine 36 or simply Morris 36 Justine) is one of the most successful and beloved models from Morris Yachts, designed by Chuck Paine (C.W. Paine Yacht Design) and built in Southwest Harbor/Bass Harbor, Maine, starting in the early 1980s (launched around 1983). It's Chuck Paine's follow-up to earlier collaborations like the Leigh 30 and Linda 28 but scaled up for more serious cruising with greater accommodations, speed, and offshore capability while preserving the signature Morris elegance, build quality, and seaworthiness. This was Tom Morris's best-selling model at the time, with about 33 hulls built as the Justine 36 (plus a handful of modified transom versions called the Morris 38, otherwise identical). It's praised by designers like Bob Perry as "as perfect as I have seen" for its proportions, engineering, and all-around performance—nimble yet comfortable, fast yet easy to handle short-handed.
