Morris Victoria 34
Description
The Morris Victoria 34 (often simply called the Victoria 34 or Morris Victoria 34) is a classic cruising sailboat designed by Chuck Paine (C.W. Paine Yacht Design). It was built in the US by Morris Yachts (Maine) under a licensing arrangement, while the same design was produced in the UK by Victoria Marine (or Victoria Yachts/Shadow) as the Victoria 34. This dual-build approach was common for Paine designs like the Frances series (e.g., Morris Frances 26 / Victoria 26, Morris Leigh 30 / Victoria 30), allowing high-quality production on both sides of the Atlantic. The Victoria 34 dates from the mid-1980s (around 1986 onward), featuring a timeless traditional aesthetic with a moderate fin keel (or optional shoal/Scheel keel), skeg-hung rudder for protection and tracking, graceful sheer, and premium craftsmanship. It's renowned for excellent light-air performance (generous sail plan), balance, strength, and offshore capability—making it a capable coastal/bluewater cruiser that's still nimble and rewarding to sail. It's a step up in size and volume from the Morris 32 or Justine 36, with more interior space and tankage for extended cruising.
