Mosquito 104 (Fly 34)

Mosquito 104 (Fly 34)

Description

The MOSQUITO 104 (also known as the Mosquito 104 or sometimes marketed as the Fly 34 Mosquito 104) is a Danish-designed performance-oriented cruising sailboat from the mid-1980s. It was penned by the renowned Danish naval architects Paul Elvstrøm & Kjærulff (Elvstrøm/Kjaerulff bureau), famous for Olympic sailing and innovative designs. Built primarily by Farsoe Glasfiber (Denmark) starting around 1985, with some earlier examples (e.g., 1980 hulls under Fly 34 branding), production was limited—estimates range from about 30 to fewer than 100 hulls total, making it a rare and cult-favorite classic in European waters. This boat stands out for its slender, lightweight hull (narrow beam for its era), deep fin keel, fractional sloop rig, and emphasis on speed and handling—often described as a "slender Danish classic" that's sporty, fast downwind, and rewarding to sail, especially in moderate-to-fresh conditions. It's more performance-leaning than many traditional cruisers.
