New Horizons 26

New Horizons 26

Description

The New Horizons 26 is a 25‑foot trailerable pocket cruiser designed by John C. Newton and built by New Horizon Boat Company in the United States from the mid‑1960s through the early 1970s. Around 250–300 boats were produced, making it a moderately successful small‑cruiser of its era. Known for its distinctive raised‑deck profile, generous interior space, and strong hand‑laid fiberglass hull, the New Horizon 25 was designed as a comfortable weekender capable of coastal cruising. Features include a roomy cabin with sitting headroom, a simple and manageable masthead sloop rig, a long shallow keel with centerboard (in most versions), and family‑friendly handling qualities. Its combination of vintage character, interior volume, and trailerability keeps it popular among budget‑minded cruisers today.
