Westerly 29 Konsort Duo
Description
The Konsort (also known as the Westerly Konsort or Konsort 29) is a British fiberglass family cruiser designed by Laurent Giles & Partners and built by Westerly Marine Construction Ltd. in Waterlooville, England, from 1979 to 1988. It was one of Westerly's most popular models (second only to the Centaur in sales), with approximately 1,000 hulls produced (including the Konsort Duo pilothouse variant). The design fills the gap between the 26 ft Centaur and larger 31 ft Westerlys (Longbow/Renown), featuring a twin-keel (bilge keel) configuration for shallow draft and drying-out ability in tidal areas, a wide beam (3.3 m) for exceptional interior volume and stability, a masthead sloop rig, and solid build quality emphasizing safety, comfort, and good manners in all conditions. It's praised for roominess (one of the roomiest 29-footers), security (stiff and predictable), and performance (fast yet forgiving, with a reputation for easy handling and coastal/offshore capability). The Duo variant adds a pilothouse for all-weather use.
