Rodgers/Scott
O.H. Rodgers: A naval architect known for high-performance racing designs in the 1970s–1980s. His Rodgers 24 was a pure racer that Captiva Yachts licensed and adapted.
Walter Scott: A Webb Institute-trained naval architect with a background in aerospace (Grumman) and yacht design (chief engineer at Irwin Yachts). He specialized in practical modifications for production boats, including the Watkins 27, Allmand 31, and Captiva models. Scott's input focused on making the hull more versatile—adding ballast stability, centerboard for variable draft, and a fractional rig suited to both racing and relaxed sailing.
