Arctic Tern 23

Arctic Tern 23

Description

The Arctic Tern 23 is a compact, seaworthy pocket cruiser sailboat designed by renowned naval architect and boatbuilder Sam Devlin of Devlin Designing Boat Builders in Olympia, Washington. Introduced in the late 1970s as part of Devlin's early work (he started his business in 1979), it evolved through several iterations, with the final version serving as a logical extension of his smaller Winter Wren design. The hull features finer lines in the entrance and exit for improved performance over its predecessor, making it a versatile daysailer or weekender capable of port-to-port passages in varied weather. Constructed using the innovative "stitch-and-glue" method with composite plywood and epoxy, it's lightweight, strong, and ideal for home builders seeking a trailerable sailboat under 25 feet.
