C&C 35 -1 (Redwing 35)
Description
The C&C 35 AKA Redwing 35 (C&C 35-1) is a classic Canadian sailboat designed by Cuthbertson & Cassian (C&C Designs) and first introduced in 1969. Originally built as the Redwing 35 by Hinterhoeller Yachts, it was renamed the C&C 35 after the merger of Hinterhoeller with C&C Yachts. This recreational keelboat is renowned as a cruiser-racer, blending strong performance with cruising comfort, and played a key role in establishing C&C as a leading production sailboat builder in the 1970s. It features a masthead sloop rig, solid fiberglass hull, and balsa-cored fiberglass deck. A total of 351 units were produced across its variants before production ended in 1975 for the main models. The design emphasizes good looks, speed, and seaworthiness, making it a favorite for both racing and family cruising. Note that C&C produced other unrelated 35-foot models later, such as the C&C 35-3 (MKIII, 1983–1987) and the Landfall 35 (1979–1984), which are distinct designs focused more on cruising.
