Sea Snark Mark II (Super Snark)

Sea Snark Mark II (Super Snark)

Description

The Sea Snark Mark II (also known as Super Snark) is an ultralight, portable lateen-rigged daysailer designed by the Snark team, introduced around 1958 by Snark Sailboats (Meyers Boat Co.) of Chicago, with later production by Cleatline Boats and CastleCraft. Over 30,000 units were built, making it one of the most popular foam dinghies ever, prized for its ABS foam construction (unsinkable, rigid, lightweight at 50 lb), easy assembly from a kit, daggerboard for stability, and beginner-friendly handling on small lakes or beaches—no trailer needed. Features include minimal draft (1-14 inches), bright colors, and simple rigging for quick launches.
