Stevens Custom 40

Stevens Custom 40

Description

The Stevens Custom 40 is a 40‑foot semi‑custom cruising yacht designed by Dick Carter and built by Stevens Yachts (Netherlands) from the late 1970s through the early 1980s. Approximately 15–20 hulls were produced, each offering extensive customization options while maintaining Carter's signature blend of performance and cruising comfort. The Custom 40 features a modern fin keel, skeg‑hung rudder, powerful fractional sloop rig, and a sleek hull designed for fast passage making. Construction used high‑quality hand‑laid fiberglass with balsa coring, extensive teak interiors, and premium deck hardware. Owners value its balance of speed, seaworthiness, and luxurious Dutch craftsmanship.
