Triton
Description
The Triton designed by Carl Stewart is a 28‑foot offshore cruising sloop built by Triton Yachts (USA) during the 1960s. Approximately 50–60 hulls were produced as one of the early fiberglass bluewater designs. Known for its seaworthy full keel, heavy construction, and traditional cruising layout, the Stewart Triton offers a deep cockpit, roomy interior with berths for five, galley, head, and excellent storage. Its masthead sloop rig, keel‑hung rudder, and moderate sail plan provide balanced, predictable handling suitable for coastal and offshore sailing. The design reflects Stewart's conservative approach to safe, comfortable passage making.
