Supercat 20
Description
Supercat 20 (also styled SuperCat 20 or SC20) is a high-performance 20-foot beach catamaran designed primarily by Bill Roberts (with some references to Steve Edmunds or Formula Catamarans input). It was introduced in 1980 and built by Formula Catamarans (later associated with Boston Whaler) in the USA. Production was limited, making these boats relatively rare today, but they have a dedicated following among vintage beach cat enthusiasts. It was created as a fast, exciting daysailer with innovative features for its time, including patented elliptical hull shapes aimed at reducing pitchpoling tendency and improving overall handling. The Supercat line (including 15, 17, and 20 models) emphasized performance while incorporating unique design elements like a rotating spar on some rigs.
