Swan 40 (1970-1972 Tall Rig)

Swan 40 (1970-1972 Tall Rig)

Description

The Swan 40 Tall Rig refers to select examples of the original Swan 40 (Sparkman & Stephens) built by Nautor Swan (Finland) 1970–1972 (13 total hulls), upgraded with taller masts for IOR racing. The tall rig configuration increased sail area over the conservative short rig while preserving legendary Swan craftsmanship (teak decks, mahogany interior, fin keel/spade rudder). Optimized for competitiveness in early offshore events with responsive handling and build quality unmatched in its era.
