Swan 43 (S&S DESIGN)
Description
The Swan 43 is a distinguished Finnish sailboat designed by Olin Stephens of Sparkman & Stephens and built by Oy Nautor AB from 1967 to 1982. Originally created as a Royal Ocean Racing Club rule cruiser-racer, this was the second boat design built by Nautor and had a successful 25-year production run with 67 boats completed. The recreational keelboat features fiberglass construction with wood trim, a masthead sloop rig, raked stem with raised counter and reverse transom, skeg-mounted rudder with wheel steering, and a fixed swept fin keel with lead ballast. Key features include a Volvo Penta MD2B 25 hp diesel engine, 40-gallon fuel capacity, 50-gallon water capacity, and delivery with a keel-mounted trim tab. The design achieved a PHRF rating of 96-114.
