Swan 59 Tall Rig

Swan 59 Tall Rig

Description

The Swan 59 Tall Rig is the high-performance variant of the Swan 59 cruiser-racer designed by Germán Frers and built by Oy Nautor AB in Finland from 1984 to 1990, with a total of 21 hulls completed (some equipped with the optional tall rig for enhanced light-air and upwind performance). It shares the same elegant Frers hull form, high-quality fiberglass construction (solid hull with cored deck), teak decks and interior joinery, and balanced bluewater capabilities as the standard model, but benefits from a taller mast and increased sail area that make it particularly responsive in lighter winds while remaining stiff and powerful in a breeze. The boat excels as a versatile performer for long-distance cruising or club/Swan Cup racing, with a practical deck layout for shorthanded sailing and spacious, luxurious accommodations.
