Swan 59
Description
The Swan 59 is a powerful performance cruiser-racer designed by Germán Frers and built by Oy Nautor AB in Finland from 1984 to 1990, with only 21 hulls completed. It represents a significant step in the Frers era at Nautor, offering a beamy, modern hull form with excellent stability, spacious accommodations, and strong bluewater capability for shorthanded or family cruising while remaining competitive in club racing or events like the Swan Cup. The boat features high-quality fiberglass construction (solid hull with cored deck), elegant teak decks and interior joinery, a practical masthead sloop rig (cutter options existed), and a balanced, seakindly motion suited for long-distance passages.
