Tayana 47

Tayana 47

Description

The Tayana 47 was designed by Robert Perry and built by Ta Yang Yacht Building Co. in Taiwan starting in 1991, representing part of the renowned Tayana line that has produced over 1,400 bluewater cruisers since the company's founding in 1973. This 47-foot cutter-rigged sailboat features fiberglass construction with a fin keel and rudder on skeg configuration, displacing 35,000 pounds with 11,675 pounds of ballast and drawing 6 feet. Available in both Deck Salon (DS) and Center Cockpit (CC) configurations. The design incorporates Perry's signature styling with moderate displacement characteristics, achieving a sail area-to-displacement ratio of 14.94 and comfort ratio of 36.35, making it well-suited for extended ocean passages while maintaining reasonable performance under sail.
